Show Update January 20, 2021

As of now I do not expect to be online tonight, Wednesday 01/20/2021. Please pray for our online community, the sick and our Nation. Now more than ever we need to remember God is in CONTROL!!! We needn’t worry about who is sitting in the oval office, when we know who is sitting on THE THRONE!!!! If we do not see you tonight, Lord willing we will see you tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. EST

Thought of the Day

Give us this day our daily bread,”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:11‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)

The disciples of Jesus had asked Him to teach them how they should pray, as John the Baptist had taught his disciples. In this brief beginning to the example prayer, Jesus teaches that we should seek our daily needs from God. He is our Provider and knows all our needs before we even ask Him (Matthew 6:8). He delights in providing all our needs and even more so when we come to Him and trust Him to deliver them.

Did you read yesterday’s verse of the day? We were reminded not to focus merely on physical bread for our existence as God can sustain us by any means — including by the words of His mouth (Matthew 4:4). The Lord will provide — we need only seek Him and trust Him.

Thought of the Day 2/2/2020

“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will stand upon the earth.” Job‬ ‭19:25‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)

Job just may be the one human who we can say suffered the most on this earth, between physical pain and ailments and emotional distress of the loss of family and possessions. The friends who came to bring comfort to him in the midst of his suffering only seemed to bring more stress, anxiety, and even anger. They may have been able to accuse Job of not being the most humble man alive, or perhaps being hypocritical, but Job wants one thing for certain on the record. Job wants it known to these friends (and any in generations to come who might hear of the sufferings he endured) to understand that he still had faith and trust in his Redeemer. He knew that even if he was not delivered from his physical ailments, or restored his worldly possessions, that in the end the God he had always trusted in was a living God who would ultimately redeem Job to Himself for all eternity. Can you state with the confidence of Job that you know your Redeemer, the living God, and that He will restore you to Himself for all eternity?

Thought of the Day 12/30/2020

“But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” Matthew‬ ‭5:44‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)

This is probably one of those passages we read quickly or skip over entirely, because it is not in our human nature to want to love our enemies or pray for those who hurt us. In fact, love and prayer are usually the furthest thing from our minds when we encounter hateful and hurtful people. However, they are exactly how Jesus instructs us to respond to such people. Easier said than done, right? Don’t worry, you are not alone in this struggle. Understand that loving your enemy does not mean condoning their behavior. That is why we are called to also pray for them; that through Christ’s love reflected through us, and our prayer for their hearts to be changed, the Holy Spirit might move in their lives. Jesus said the greatest commandment was to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37); He also said the second was like it in that we should love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:39). We would do well to remember that even those we would consider an “enemy” or those who treat us poorly are still our neighbor and we are commanded to love them.
